The people who will teach you

Every subject at ALS Academy is led by a practising lawyer or a National Law University post-graduate — and the person named below is the person who takes your class. We do not hand batches to substitutes.

Our hiring standard

Three conditions, without exception

A good score in an entrance test does not make someone a teacher. We look for people who have practised the law seriously and who can explain it clearly under exam pressure.

It is why this list is short. We would rather name three people you can verify than pad a page with faces you will never meet.

A research degree in law

An LL.M. from a National Law University, or equivalent standing built on years at the Bar or in a corporate legal team — in the subject they teach, not adjacent to it.

Teaching experience

At least three years of litigation, in-house practice or examination coaching, and a demonstration class before a live online batch as part of selection.

Continuing engagement with the law

Practising, publishing, or advising on policy. A teacher who has stopped reading judgments cannot teach a paper that changes with every notification.

Senior faculty

Who takes your classes

Practising lawyers who also teach — not full-time coaches reciting a syllabus. Each of them writes their own module, sets their own tests and takes their own doubt hours.

Visiting faculty

Guest sessions & the interview panel

Alongside the senior faculty, we bring in practitioners for the parts of the course where a specialist earns their fee — the state-specific enactments, judgment writing, and the viva.

These are invited engagements rather than standing appointments: a guest takes a defined block of sessions, or sits on a mock interview panel, and is named to the batch before the session so you always know who is teaching you.

Doubt desk

Scheduled open faculty time on video every week. No queueing after class, no unanswered messages.

Mentor pairing

Every student is paired with a faculty mentor who reviews the error log and rewrites the study plan every fortnight.

Mock interview panel

A panel of practising lawyers conducts mock interviews for the judiciary viva and UPSC ORA / PSU rounds, with written feedback on presentation, poise and legal reasoning.
